It takes a Chevrolet Centre Operations staff of about 10 people 32 hrs. to make ice. This includes painting all ice logos in by hand.
The Chevrolet Centre Ice is put in late September and remains for the entire Hockey season. It is covered with Athletica "Ice Deck" for events during the hockey season.
The ice at the Chevrolet Centre is 1" thick and maintained at 19 degrees for hockey and 24 degrees for Disney on Ice and Figure skating.
There are approximately 7 miles of cooling pipes in the concrete floor under the ice.
There are 4 visiting locker rooms/ dressing rooms and 2 Green Rooms for visiting teams and artists.
The Chevrolet Centre will use 550 cubic yards of dirt for events such as PBR Rodeo to cover the performance area.
